Jaynie's work reflects her love of nature and her Native American ancestry. She finds it rewarding and pleasurable to begin the process of planting a seed, nurturing it into a gourd and transforming the gourd into a piece of aesthetically, functional art.
"Gourds are natural materials that can be grown and do not deplete the earth of it's resources. They have been used as functional items for centuries, by many cultures. I am thrilled and passionate about the re-emergence of the appreciation of the gourd and its many uses as functional, artistic expressions."
The majority of Jaynie's work is comprised from natural materials gathered from nature. Jaynie views her work as sustainable & recyclable art.
